Our Crows Nest boutique is headed by our amazing Bridal Specialist, Lucia. A bridal designer, maker and couturier herself, Lucia is a wealth of knowledge. Her passion, commitment and heart in what she does is like no other. She will have you feeling comfortable and confident throughout the whole fitting process and on your big day.

Our Potts Point Bridal Team is headed by Shirin, another amazing Bridal Specialist, with a longstanding career across bridal design, making, production, alterations and fittings. Her many years of experience will be known as soon as your start your appointment with her, making sure you feel comfortable and confident in both her skills and your gown.

What to expect:

We recommend coming in for your first fitting around 6 weeks prior to your wedding (or departure date, if not local).

Our Bridal Alterations experience generally consists of 3 fittings. We kindly ask that all Brides limit the number of persons coming along to their appointments to one. We also suggest that brides bring along their shoes and if being worn, any shapewear/bras etc. for their fittings.

Consultations:

We understand that choosing a tailor for your Bridal Alterations is a big deal and that you may have questions. Our 30 minute consultations are designed for you to be able to come in and meet with one of our Bridal Specialists to discuss your gown in-person. This allows you to try on your dress if you wish and get an in-person quote, talk about options or possibilities, ease your mind of concerns and get some insight to what is in-store for your alterations when you're ready to go ahead. 

​

Consultations are not fitting appointments, so our Bridal Specialists won't be pinning your alterations in this appointment. If you wish to go ahead and there is availability on the spot, we can go ahead with your fitting, but if we have bookings scheduled, we'll need to arrange a new appointment for your first fitting.

Fitting 1:

In your first fitting our amazing Bridal Specialist, will guide you through your appointment with expertise and integrity. She can point out recommended alterations or simply stick to the areas you want to adjust.

 

The aim of your first fitting will be pinning the major fit changes, discussing any additional customisations, such as sleeves, straps, bustles, linings etc. and put together a quote for the work involved, before booking in your next fitting.

 

 

Fitting 2:

When you come back for your second fitting, your dress will have the major fit changes altered, such as take-ins, let-outs, reshaping etc. Additional details that might sit differently after these major changes are now double checked in this fitting - such as the hem, straps, lace/beading/appliqué work etc.

 

Any additional fit changes can also be pinned or any areas that need tweaking readjusted. Lastly, we’ll also check the height and usability of any bustles or loops added for trains, to make sure they’re sitting correctly.

 

 

Fitting 3:

This last fitting is generally also your pick up day. All alterations are finished for this appointment and it is just about trying on to make sure everything is looking and fitting just right. If by any chance anything needs further adjusting, we can of course book in a fourth appointment.

 

At your pick up appointment, our Bridal Specialist will additionally give you expert tips on packing, travelling with, storing, steaming and getting dressed into your dress.

Pricing:

Due to the complexity of Bridal gowns, differing design details, fabrications, layers, construction techniques and appliqué make it very difficult to provide set alterations prices.
